I didn't want to leave the prior post as the first post to read for very long, because well, it was super negative, and I feel a little better today. "positive thoughts floating from me to you right now"
The title of this post couldn't explain itself any better. For those that saw his gallery prior(it's expired, sorry) you would have noticed that Benjamin is by far no longer a baby. He is my "little man." Sometimes, it is so hard for me not to explode with love when he does the most adorable things.
As I have mentioned before Ben is a helper, and wants to do whatever anyone else is doing ---No matter what. I do appreciate his hard work though, because at one point he probably won't want to be such a 'helper'.
He loves to help take out the trash, clean or sweep the floors, and other random housecleaning chores. Most recently, he has become fond of as soon as I get home, he wants to take my shoes off, and he goes and puts them away in his closet with the rest of his shoes. Often now, if I can't find my shoes in my closet, I know they are probably in his. So thoughtful.
Next, he loves to help clean the table after a meal. Including his high chair. Once down from the highchair, he carries one item at a time over to the sink whether it be his bib, plate, cup, butter dish, silverware. It is alwasy best to have a person standing there at the sink for deposit, because Ben believes magically if he gets it "close enough" to the sink, then it will float in by itself. If we do not let him accomplish these tasks or help and carry by himself, he screams quite a bit.
Example, We had dinner at Alison's house, and old highschool friend of mine, and when he was "all done" he proceeded to get down from the chair and try to carry his plate to their kitchen. Well, knowing that sometimes he may drop or spill what is left on the plate, I tried to help. Let's just say that didnt' go over very well. So, I followed crowched down behind him diligently as Alison and Cheney, her husband laughed. It was pretty funny I can agree. He also got to eat a big bowl of icecream all by himself. He does quite well with silverware now. No icecream headache was going to slow him down, he would cry for a sec, and then proceed with the next bite.
He knows what "relax" means. When I say, Mama's gonna relax, he runs to the recliner, and notions for me to sit beside him. So cute, we put our feet up and chill, both crossing our legs in front of us at the ankles.
He is very fond of shoes and wants to wear everyone's that is available. The cutest is him wearing Jake's shoes because one of them is about the length of his leg. He does quite well walking in them though.
He wants to go "potty" all the time. If we are in the bathroom, he thinks he needs to go. So, I figure why not, up we go on the toilet, he grabs TP, acts like he wipes, puts it in the toilet. Says all done, and wants to hop off an flush. I don't know if he is quite ready yet, but I will let him be as interested as he wishes for a while before we try. It can't hurt.
If Jake is fixing something, Ben is sitting right beside him with screwdriver in hand concentrating very hard on what he may need to do to help. Sometimes he finds a screw and turns the tool. When he is done, he looks at you with his famous face of accomplishment.
He is very close to being able to feed Mugsy by himself. We just have to remind him to move "SLOW, SLOW, SLOW" as he carries the water dish or food over to Mugsy's corner.
If I am getting dressed he likes to try to help me put my pants on, that is always fun. I have to mention this because I do think it is hilarious. I have found him come around the corner with a pair of my underwear or Jake's boxers on his head. Where he learned to do that, I do not know!
He likes to brush his own teeth, brush his hair, clean his face and hands, and attempts to dress and undress himself.
He has developed a habit of just coming up to Jake or I smiling really big and giving us a big hug. I don't know that Ben will ever understand how much that melts me inside. Probably when he has kids of his own.
One thing is for always certain, there is never a dull moment, and he is the greatest joy in our lives. He is the reason I am sooooo extremely excited to have this little girl. What a blessing to be able to have two children. Ben lets me know what I have to look forward to all over again.
This is the first day of the rest of your life.

Props
It is hard to be really sick, tired, and miserable and take care of your toddler by yourself. He hasn't been bad. Did you know though that little boys can be occupied with the simplest thing as a kick ball over a 1/2 hour at a time. And, actually, after a skipped nap yesterday we both went to bed by 6:45. I'll take it!
It's hard to not get rest, be up coughing most the night, and go to work because you have deadlines, and it isn't really an option to call in sick. Plus, I am pregnant. But that really isn't a problem, except our little girl is probably getting jostled uncomfortably by the coughing jolts. Well, that and since I don't use my stomach muscles at all and havn't much for the last six months, it feels like I have done a million and two sit-ups.
And the added hotness of having a huge lump swollen under your chin from the enlarged glands adds a whole new meaning to a double chin. Each time I swallow, I cringe with pain. Wanna lose weight? Get a sore throat so bad that the thought of swallowing actual food scares you! Don't even think about talking. As I hear my phone ring 10 million times, I think really? Today? couldnt' you just wait and call tomorrow or even better yet, the next day?
Oh my! Ok, enough complaining. But I am just gonna go ahead and give myself a little pat on the back for being such a trooper and diligently working away. What will I do for lunch today? You guessed it, nap-time.

They say 18 months but they are actually more recent than that. The Proof sign shows up pretty big on them, but you get the general idea on how cute he is!

Weekend in KC
Headed to KC again this past weekend. Had a great time. Hung out with Jason, Crystal, Isaac, Ava! Isaac was absolutely a darling handsome little man, that got me real excited about our baby girl! Ben played, played and played some more. We were worn out. First, a bbq at some of Jason and Crystal's friends, then a "DOVE" chocolate party! Then a nights rest. Off to church, and then to another BBQ at Anna and Matt's! Elle, Mati, Ava, and Ben played ball, played in the sand, Played on the slide and swingset, and wore each other out! Great times, and here are a few pics!

Dreamin
I have had the most amazing dreams lately about our little girl. Two nights ago, I dreamt of my C-section delivery and everything went so well. I have been wondering so much lately what our little girl is going to look like and it makes me so excited! Well in my dream she head a full head of brown hair and was absolutely beautiful. She was so tiny, and I just snuggled her close and talked to her and she smiled at me. It was a pretty amazing dream.
So, there are some positives to these vivid preggo dreams. It's almost like the real thing!!! But I know the real thing is going to be 100 times better!!!
The differences in my dreams now verses my dreams with Ben were I was always a superhero in my dreams with Ben. I was out saving the world, family, husband and anyone else you could imagine. I was out on adventures in the rain forest, climbing mountains, jumping down waterfalls, and fending off wild animals. My dreams now seem much more calm as of so far. I almost wonder if the adventure dreams related to the fact that I was having a boy. I dunno.
She is my little dear. Moving ever so soflty around in my belly. She kicks, punches and rolls. She sits way, way, way low and I probably have to use the restroom like 20 times a day to relieve my bladder. It's insane. I think she sleeps alot cuz she goes through episodes of being wild and then she calms down and barely moves at all. Last night, Jake had his hand over me on my belly in the middle of the night, and she started going wild, kicking at his hand, it was kind of funny. He may have been half asleep, but he quickly rolled over probably thinking, come on little girl, quit kicking me, it's sleep time.
I have also found a new favorite song for our little girl, we listen to often. It's called "Daughter" Performed by Loudon Wainwright III in the movie Knocked UP! This is still a hilarious movie to watch and even better if you are pregnant watching it.
One other song, I kind of dedicate to Jake, Ben, and our little girl is off of the P.S. I Love You Soundtrack,
"Love You 'til the End" Written by Darryl Hunt, Performed by The Pogues.
Check em out. You'll become a huge fan!!
Overall, feeling well and doing great!

Ben is 20.5 months!
I realized I am little behind on updates with this guy! Just a few specs:
Wears 24 months and 2T
Loves to show off a new outfit right after he puts it on.( I kind of egg that one on)
This morning he said, "Tasha, Katie, Grandma, Grandpa, Jeca(Jessica), Brad(Braddock), Aba (Ava), Onnn (Anna), John (Johnny) Becc (Becca, and issa (Alyssa). This was all done on prompting.
He still likes to eat, mostly vegetables. He can feed himself with a spoon very well, and not to bad with a fork. When he gets frustrated he prefers to use his hands.
He drinks from a regular cup at meal time. Prefers water.
He LOVES nutrigrain bars and Mom's vanilla protein drinks.
Still drinks rice milk. But has most other kinds of dairy.
He has requested 3 times in the last week to sit on the toilet to go "potty" another word he tries to use. He tries to take his pants off. I help, then take his diaper off, and sit him up there. He sits for a moment to make sure I tell him how proud I am of him, then he grabs tissue to wipe. Note: He has no connection of what actually "going" potty in the potty chair is.
He loves to run! In a big circle from living room to dining room to kitchen. Likes it if we are chasing him or he is chasing us. We can do this for 1/2 hour or more.
He is an awesome dancer. All kind of moves. I can't wait to take him to an actual dance.
Still prefers open mouth kisses over the smooch.
Loves to hold babies(Cousin Sydney-poor girl) Shows to be good training though.
He likes to tell Bugsy no, and tell him he is BAD!
In a serious conversation he tends to talk with his hands and wave them around and point.
He thinks he has a baby in his belly now.
He had his first hair cut with clippers about three weeks ago.
He walks up and down steps with a rail. Without one he falls, and has learned it is best to use a rail. My parenting technique is mostly "learn by experience" :)
He loves animals, birds, bugs, dirt, and rocks. Now if anything is on his hand when he doesn't think it should be there, the world must stop until we clean his hand.
He has a little bicycle with training wheels. Still working on pedaling but he loves to sit on it and push it with his feet.
Sleeps in a big boy bed.
Cleans, cleans, cleans. Give him a cloth and he will scrub away. Floors, walls, furniture. One day he had opened the fridge by himself and wanted to get his milk and pour it in a cup. Jake and I were in the living room so didn't really get to see all of it. We came in the kitchen to find him with a towel in his hand cleaning some spilled milk up. The container open next to him on the floor, and the dish towel drawer wide open. He's pretty self sufficient I would say for only 20 months old.
He loves to help sweep and run the vacuum also. Laundrey, he helps load and unload washer and dryer, and still helps "shake" out the clothes before folding. Sometimes, this causes laundrey time to take a little longer than it used to.
Some pictures taken today: They could be some of my favorites!

20 weeks
Ok, so this is the one the morning of my Ultrasound with our baby girl. I haven't had a chance recently to get Jake to take my side view, but you get the idea. 19 weeks, 3 days!

And this is me with Ben at about the same time. I posted it as 19.5 weeks.
Still pretty comparable. I remember getting to this point last time with Ben. I am getting much bigger overall, even though I know I am healthy and weight gain is looking good. But the last thing I feel is that I look good. Pale and fat.....that is how I feel, but I know it is all worth it. I feel her rock n and rollin all around inside. She is strong, but I don't know that she is quite as powerful as Ben, but then again who knows, I got several more months to feel her get stronger. Sometimes she does kick just right and it makes me jump. Then I just laugh. We haven't quite decided on a name for certain. I thought we knew, but now Jake is trying to think of other girls names. So, who knows. She may not be named up until delivery. But no matter what, she's gonna be one darling baby girl!!

Isaac's Birthday
I am an aunt again on 3/5/2009!!! This makes 6 nieces and nephews on both sides! Baby Isaac was born yesterday to my brother Jason and his wife Crystal, Ava's parents. He was 8lbs 12oz! May be the biggest baby by far in our family yet. Everyone else was in the lower 7's or even 6+. She had a good delivery, and everything went really quick. Baby and Mom seemed to be doing fine.
I ask that please say some prayers for them now, because late yesterday he was put in NICU to monitor his difficulty breathing and high respirations. A chest x-ray this morning found amniotic fluid in his lungs. It seems he is having some of the same difficulties that Ava had when she was born. We know he will get through this and be fine, but they all definately need our prayers and support. I don't even want to imagine. Bless Jason and Crystal in this difficult time!

WE ARE HAVING A .................
SWEET HEALTHY BABY GIRL!!! She weighs 11ounces and couldn't look more perfect. She was so active, and her little arms kept waving around. I think she was trying to say, "HI MOM, HI DAD! Can't wait to meet you!" The ultrasonagrapher, just kept using the word "beautiful" talking about her heart, and organs! Measurements looked good.
Mom gained 4lbs, I actually weigh one lb less than what I weighed with Ben at this point in pregnancy. I am halfway there. Little over 19 weeks, measuring 20!! We couldnt' be more excited!
More to come later!

Dear Baby Holee
Dear my dear sweet Baby,
So, today is the big day, Jake and I have been awaiting since seriously the first day we knew we were pregnant with you. To say I am excited is quite the understatement. After 11:30 today the planning will begin. We will get the babyroom ready and more!
I will be honest to say, I am a little more excited finding out today than the day we found out with your older brother. Not that either of you is more special than the other, but I can say that the reason for me being SO excited this time is because of your older brother. Ben has taught Jake and I how wonderful a child is. Granted he is a boy, and you may be a girl, but either way we have another baby coming that we get to share a life with and parent and love for. Children are true miracles and I can say that from experience now.
If you are boy, then bring it on! Ben will have a brother to play and cause trouble with. We already have a ton of boy clothes, and blue, blue blue accessories and toys. So that is no problem. Plus I kind of know a little of what to expect.
If you are a girl, well then there is excitement of the unknown. I have so many nieces and I can't get enough of them, so to have a daughter would be most grand also. Having lots of nieces will hopefully benefit us in the clothes and accessories part for a girl too, so I don't worry much there either.
When we painted the baby room, we made sure it was uni-sex before we even found out we were pregnant the first time, so we wouldn't have to re-do it ever!! Your Mother doesn't like to paint.
The number one thing I am so excited to see today is your little tiny body growing and developing. I hope and pray you are just as healthy as can be. You move around and kick all the time, and I get to feel you which makes it more real. Your Dad got to feel you kick for the first time just last week. To see you will be that much more wonderful and real. I thought I was carrying you high, but as I have gotten bigger, I notice you are actually quite low already making Mom go to the bathroom 25 times a day! You are very strong, and some of your kicks almost surprise me. It's your little way of saying Hi to me!!
Can't wait to see and meet you!!
LOVE,
MOM

Rollar Skating MANIA!
I think one thing I love about having children is you are always going to have "firsts" and sometimes they are literally the most exciting, fun times of having a child.
This past weekend we headed to KC to go to a rollar skating birthday party for Elle, Ben's cousin. As we were carpooling our way up with Grandma and Papa K, I was questioning how well Ben would actually do with this whole rollarskating thing, and well the fact that I am almost five months pregnant helping him "try" to rollar skate maybe difficult. Needless to say it was an absolute blast. I still have great balance on the skates, thanks to the old grade school days, when rollar skating was the cool thing to do, and Ben took to it like a champ!! I couldn't get his skates on quick enough. Off we went to the rink! His foot was to small for the boot skates, but the strap on skates to his boots worked great! The first few times around the rink, he held my hand and just grinned from ear to ear watching all the other children and adults pass him by. He would get real excited and let go of my hand (which worried me at first, but I let him go) and he would just go off. I could tell when he would try so hard to pick up his speed, and then he would end up on his booty, By the end of the session he was mastering catching himself when he knew he was losing balance. It was pretty impressive.
They played great music while we went round and round and Ben would throw in a few dance moves here and there. He thought he was sooooo big!
My favorite part had to be the playing limbo. Ben and I did AWESOME. We would go right up to the limbo bar together. Mama would squat, and Ben caught on quickly as he squatted beside me. The first time, I don't realy think he needed to lower himself at all, but he did anyways. So, after making it through three rounds of limbo, we came up to the stick, and I noticed, Hmmmmmmm, Mama isn't going to pull this one off, but I knew Ben would. So, I went up with him and let him go. I tried to walk around only to turn and see Ben try to grab the limbo bar and move it out of his way to go through. It was hilarious!
We had such a good time! Papa was already talking about taking him Ice skating next week. Hmmmm, not so sure about that one.
And I have to put a video on here, it was hard to take, because as you can see, I had to keep moving while filming also! And if he did fall, I tried to be quick to help him up, because the last thing I wanted was someone running him over! Notice the hand shaking with the beat towards the end.
Keeps on going!
