Almond Butter
Ben loves, loves, peanut butter by the spoonful. Well Jake and I will buy Almond butter every so often from the health food store, make it right there in front of you, no additives, and I love it! But it has a much rougher texture, and really isn't sweet. So, last night, Ben asked for a spoonful, thinking it was peanut butter. The moment I put it in his mouth, he left his mouth open, saying "aghhhh", like he was going to spit it out. I said to him, "Ben, that is almond butter, it is good for you and will make you strong." He closes his mouth, swallows, and says, "MMMMM, almond butter, make me strong" and then carried on.

Noooooooooo! Jooooo-NNNNA!!
The title says it for itself. I am quoting Benjamin when he tells us that Jonna's name is not, "Doll Baby" "Your little Sister", "Sugar Plum" or "Jonna Baby".
Ben only allows us to refer to her actual name! Of course, if he is in the mood, he can call her "Booo-i-ful", or "Suga Pum" Then it is okay.

Smiley Jonna falls asleep
I wish I had this on video, but the explanation will have to do!
Jonna has fallen asleep the last two nights smiling from ear to ear. It is the cutest thing. I will talk to her and without opening her eyes, she grins and grins. I love it. It's like she is thinking, "Oh Mom, I love you and want to hang out with you so much, but I am sooooo tired!" Haha.

Ben gets a flu shot.
Just got back from taking my Mr. Little Man to the doc to get a shot. We talked about it last night and this morning. He was all ready to go when I picked him up from daycare. So, in the room, the nurse comes in. Ben knows what's coming look's at the table, and says, "Noooooo, no want table" We talk about other things like the sounds a dog, monkey, horse, tiger, and bear make. He takes his Flu Mist shot first. The nurse talked me into him getting the HlNl shot and they were available. He passed that with flying colors. Then a 1, 2, 3, we laid him down on the table, I gave him a big bear hug while holding his arms down, and the nurse gave the shot in his left thigh. He screamed first and fought back just to hold him down, and then one big scream as I know the shot went in. Seconds later, the nurse says, want a sticker? Ben stops crying, and smiles saying, "i wanna sticker" Who happens to be on top of the sticker pile?! no other than "DIIII-AAAAAAAAA-GOOOOOO!" You all know how the song goes. Ben says Dago, dago (no, not the slang term) and all is well in Benjamin Holee Land! He puts his coat on and heads for the door. Says, "Thanks, See ya later!" to the nurse. She just laughs and says, "wow, he is pretty tuff". I say, "ya, I know, he takes after me!" Haha, He is such a big boy!
Then off to MdD's for a happy meal! Of course, he gets McDonalds! It's no fun going to the doctor. One thing I will never forget, is even though my Ma and Pa were broke, if we had to go to the doctor ever and were sick or had shots, Mom or Dad always brought us somewhere for a special treat. And I will be carrying that tradition on!

Funny Story
So, the other day, Jake and I headed to Kayser's Chiropractic, a place I worked for over 7 years, to buy a monthly supply of vitamins. Yes, it can be quite a purchase. I know most of them still that work there, and they have always been kind of like my second family to an extent. Well, I go down my list of what I need. I am so proud that I finally have my husband taking a least one good Multi Vitamin a day. And I wanted to try out a cheaper brand, but still good quality, so I requested "Male" Supplement made by Optimal Health. I ususally am up on my vitamin research and really thought this would be good for Jake. Well, Sandy kind of smiled, and the doc overheard too, and may have took a pause, but said nothing. Then I asked for a doctor's note, so that we could cover them on my cafeteria plan. Then I asked the doctor. "Don't you think this would be a good multi for Jake?" Be aware, the waiting room is full of people. He comes up to us at the front window, and kind of whispers. "Well, that is more for Prostrate problems and other dysfunctions for males, and if that is the issue, it would be great." I just started laughing. Jake did too, after he got a little red in the face. I said no, actually, he just needs a good multi. Ooopsy Daisy. We won't be needing that one. The doc kind of laughed back. "well, I was wondering, but I didn't want to say anything, because you mentioned a doctors note too" HAHAHAHA. Needless to say, we ended up getting a different high quality multi for my hubby. Oh man! I am just so darn funny sometimes.

10-9-09
These two are going to be the best of friends. Ben likes to play with my hair still when he sits beside me. Well, he has started to play with Jonna's if she is next to him.

And in this one, Jonna kept trying to grab Ben's hand as he kept trying to pull it away.

Big Hug!

Man, I love these kids! They are just too darn cute.

Some more comparison pictures. It really gets me. This is Ben at 2.5months!

And these are Jonna. Still looking so much alike!

Was trying to do a re-enactment here. The first is Ben.
And this is Jonna, which was a little harder to try to take. She more or less wanted to eat me.

This is a great picture! Ha, I left the room for a few minutes and came back and Ben hands me the camera, saying "here Mom, thanks Mom" Not knowing what it meant till I went through the pictures on the computer finding several takes including this one of Jonna. Ben has taken an interest in photography.

Another self portrait of me and my buddy!

October 2009
So, lately really I have no desire to write a lot or blog much or do much with pictures. Mainly because I would mess with pictures at home, and #1 I don't want to be at the computer when I can enjoy my time with Ben and Jonna, and number #2 I have barely seen my husband in the last several weeks. He hasn't been home, and so I don't really get a break to have 10 minutes to myself. All I wanna do when the kids go down is head to bed myself. This is okay though cuz I need my rest so that I am as close to 100% as possible in the evenings, mornings, and weekends at home when I am with the Jonna and Ben by myself. I always refer to them as my buddies because they are. I spend my time having a 20 minute serious conversation with Ben in the evenings, and I wouldn't trade it for the world. Even Jonna now stares intently and smiles at Ben as he carries on conversation with her.
Converation with Ben as we get ready to eat dinner, and I am holding Jonna:
Me: Ben will you carry your plate to the table, Please.
Ben: Ya, I carry plate to table, Mom.
Me: Thanks Ben, you are so much help.
Ben: Thanks Den, Help.
Me: Can you put the silverware out?
Ben: (Grabs chair to scoot over to the silverware drawer) Ya, ware out. (Proceeds to grab two forks and a spoon and lays them horizontally on the table, not vertical like most)
Me: Ben do you want water?
Ben: Ya, water. Ice water. Oh..... I got it! I got it! I gooooooooot it!
Me: Ok (as he fills his cup with water from our water dispenser in the fridge)
Ben: Ice Mom?
Me: okay
Jonna: Cries
