Ben's 2 Year Check up!

Benjamin had his two year well check up at the doctor today! I can't believe it. Has it really been two years:

Some specifics on our little guy:

THE STATS---30 1/2 lbs, 90% weight
35 and 3/4 inches, 75% height

He is still a good sized boy, takin after Dear Old Dad!

One of his favorite past times has become playing with Mom and Dad on their bed, whether it be pouncing around from one of us to the next or laying beside us to give us hugs and say "HI-eeee" in his sweet little southern cute boy accent.

He loves walks. Ben and I take a walk together every night, and on the nights Jake is home he comes too! Sometimes we start out in the wagon, and he pulls it home halfway, and other nights, he just walks beside us.

He has developed a sweet tooth thanks to Mom and Dad, cookies and icecream are his favorite. He still loves vegetables, but it can be a chore to get him to eat meat.

He has 12 teeth. His four eye teeth are so close to cutting but just not here yet.

He loves to say good morning and good night to his fishies. They like to hide from him, cuz he gets pretty close up sometimes, and then he looks at me saying, "Where did they go?" and when he finds them he says, "There they are!"

He loves Mugsy, our dog. They are best of buds and play and wrestle around all the time.

For the first time last night, Ben showed some understanding of getting a baby sister. After visiting with another newborn and her two older brothers, I asked if he wanted a baby sister too, and he kept nodding his head in yes and smiling.

He still drinks rice milk and loves it. The ENT doc said it was still best to stay away from most dairy if possible. Plus, he drinks so much in a days time. But it is almost always either water or rice milk.

He loves bugs, flies, spiders, birds and well any animal for that matter. He played with a kitty last night, and just kept yelling in delight as the kitty pawed and played him.

If Mom or Dad or anyone says "OUCH!" he askes them if they are okay?

Ben always has us "Come here" coaxing with his hand when he wants to show us something. This happens approximately 198 times a day.

He loves to help cook! Favorite would be making brownies or cookies, cuz he gets to taste test the dough and lick the bowl.

He listens to his Dad better than his Mom! Yes, I wish he listened better to me, but he knows not to cross his Dad. Now, Mom is pretty tough too, but he still can be quite the handful when he presses my buttons.

He has learned to tell Mom and Dad to be "QUIET" pronounced "WIAT" with his finger pointing at us and a scowl on his face. He does this when he doesn't want to do something or is supposed to stop doing something he shouldn't be. Man, it is so hard not to laugh, but he gets in big trouble for this one.

He loves, loves, loves babies. And he is so cute with them, oooooing and aahhhing, and gently rubbing their head or arms. He loves to kiss and hug them, but we try to keep that to a bare minumum because of germs. I think he is going to be an awesome big brother.

His favorite shows are Mickey Mouse Club house, and Handy Manny. He can't sit still for long, but I can get a good 20-30 minutes to myself when I get ready for work in the morning now instead of him sitting on my lap, while apply make up and fix my hair.

He loves fruit! He probably would eat an entire container of strawberries if we let him.

He runs verses walking to destinations. At night, we play, "on your mark, get set, GO!" for a good 15-20 minutes, and I sit out front watching him run back and forth accross the yard.

He loves playing with his cousins. He probalby gets to see Ava the most, and they are quite the pair. If Ava isn't following him, he is following her, and their breakouts in giggles are the best sounds in the world.

He is such a helper, whether sweeping or vacuuming, dusting, folding laundry, watering the flowers or the garden, and picking up his toys. I think he is gonna be a great helper at home with Jonna. I can not wait till she is big enough for them to play together.

Ben loves water. He loves to drink water, splash water, turn on the faucet, spray the hose, swim in his pool, play at a spray park, and run through the sprinkler. Just something amazing about that wet stuff.

Ben still sits or stands on the potty chair to go potty, wipes and flushes, but never actually goes potty. He is always there for moral support to Ava when she is going potty in the potty chair.

Man, this just keeps on going doesn't it. I guess Ben keeps us pretty interested to say the least. He is a pure joy even in the temper tantrum, trialsome times, I still get teary eyed thinking about how much we are in love with our son.
